Breaking Barriers: Enhancing Maternal Health and Digital Rights in Rural Kenya

At Community Change Advocates (CCA), we believe that health is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. As a women-led national NGO based in Machakos, our core mission is to empower vulnerable communities by ensuring they have equitable access to the healthcare services they deserve.

A Milestone of Impact: Reaching 5,000+ Lives

Our commitment to health advocacy is grounded in action. Through our dedicated public health campaigns and free medical outreaches, we have already successfully reached over 5,000 community members. These initiatives provide essential services to those in “last mile” areas who might otherwise be left behind by the traditional healthcare system.

Maternal Health & The Digital Frontier

One of our primary focus areas is Health Advocacy, with a special emphasis on Maternal Health. We work tirelessly to ensure that mothers in regions like Machakos, Makueni, and Kitui have access to safe childbirth information and postnatal support.

However, in the modern age, healthcare access is about more than just physical clinics—it is about information. This is why we focus on Digital Health Rights to ensure women have the information they need. We advocate for:

  • Access to Information: Ensuring women can use digital tools to find life-saving health data.

  • Policy Change: Advocating for better public health policies that reflect the needs of the community.

  • Bridging the Gap: Using our Education and Mentorship pillar to provide the digital literacy necessary for women to navigate modern health platforms.

Looking Forward

By intersecting maternal health with digital rights, we are ensuring that every woman has the knowledge and the power to make informed decisions about her body and her family’s future. Our approach remains evidence-driven and collaborative, as we partner with county governments and local leaders to drive sustainable change.
